It never fails. Pet owners do stupid things on July 4 like opening the front door to watch fireworks and the cat gets out...or bringing a dog to a fireworks display and the dog takes off out of fear. LEAVE YOUR PETS AT HOME IN A DARK QUIET ROOM WITH MUSIC PLAYING. Then you won't have to ask for help to find them on July 5.
5 TIPS TO KEEP PETS SAFE ON THE 4TH OF JULY
Keep them inside. That should be tips one through five, but Parade.com came up with some other common sense tips to help protect your pets on Thursday.
1) ID your pet. Make sure your pet's collars have the most up to date info.
2) Never use fireworks around a pet. Some dogs are known to eat anything, though. That's some bad indigestion.
3) Keep pets away from alcohol.
4) Keep bug sprays at bay.
5) Avoid harmful foods. Chocolate, grapes, raisins, onions, coffee, and avocados can be harmful to you pet.
