Friday morning at 6:16 AM, Kendrick Lamar let "6:16 in LA." ring out -- the second of four diss tracks in an ongoing feud against Drake. Since then, hip-hop heads, stans and internet detectives have been working overtime, trying to uncover hidden meanings packed into the song's title.

Here are some of the top numerological connections being discussed:

  • Most obviously, the title is a reference to Drake’s popular timestamp song-naming convention.
  • June 16 is Father’s Day — a possible shot at Drizzy’s parenting skills and reluctance to publicly claim his child.
  • June 16 is also Tupac’s birthday — Kendrick has made a point of defend the West Coast legend’s honor.
  • June 16 is the day Euphoria premiered on HBO.
  • In some scriptures, it’s not 666 but 616 that is considered the “mark of the beast,” eating some to believe that Kendrick is calling Drizzy the devil.

Less popular theories have floated possible connections between bible verses, a Toronto concert Kendrick played back in 2011, and even the O.J. Simpson case.
