JAY-Z PURCHASED GENERATOR FOR HIS BUILDING AFTER HURRICANE SANDY

Jay-Z has reportedly purchased a generator to power the building that he lives in -- which was out of power after Hurricane Sandy. According to The New York Post, Jay brought the generator for his 195 Hudson Street building. Jay and Beyonce own a $7 million loft in the building -- which is located in NYC's Tribeca neighborhood.

In other news, in an interview with The National Enquirer -- Veronica Alexander, the woman who owns the Blue Ivy trademark has said that she is open to negotiating with the couple over the name. Jay and Bey planned to launch a line for babies named after their daughter, but a judge ruled in Veronica's favor.

Veronica told the tabloid, "The minute I found out they named their daughter Blue Ivy, I called their team to let them know my company exists. Just because they are celebrities doesn't give them entitlement to the name. If they'd won, every thing I've worked for would have backfired."

  • She continued, "Jay-Z and Beyonce are worth well over a billion dollars, and they just assumed they could lay claim to their daughter's name without a hitch. When they realized someone beat them to the punch, it suddenly became a case of big, wealthy stars trying to shut down the small business person. As of now, they can't use the name to launch their new business venture, and they're seething."
  • Veronica added, "I'd be more than happy to sell it to them. All they have to do is make me an offer I can't refuse!"

JUVENILE CLARIFIES STATEMENTS HE MADE ABOUT LIL WAYNE

Juvenile has clarified recent statements that he made about Lil Wayne. As previously reported, Juvenile told Complex that Wayne wanted to leave Cash Money in the mid 2000s, but stayed because he was scared to leave. He also revealed that Cash Money had cheated Wayne out of money. According to Hiphopdx.com, Juve revealed that the comments were made before he recorded "Picture Perfect" with Wayne and Baby.

He explained, "I am truly excited to say that it's a new day. There are a lot of old interviews out there that can reflect old negativity. Luckily, in recent months, circumstances brought me and Cash Money back together and I was able to re-unite with members of my original crew. That's why we all have decided to leave negativity in the past. I am truly looking forward to the future and to my future work with Baby, Lil Wayne, YMCMB and Cash Money."

  • In other news, according to TMZ.com, Lil Wayne has lost his lawsuit against Quincy Jones III over his documentary The Carter 3. He has been ordered to pay Jones $2.2 million.

GUCCI MANE CHALLENGES RAPPERS TO FIGHT IN BOXING RING: Gucci Mane took to Twitter to challenge rappers to fight him in the ring -- with all proceeds going to charity. He tweeted, "I'm challenging any rapper friend or foe in the ring to a boxing match. Put yo money up. Who got hands not raps. Who wants the challenge. All Deez P*ssy a** rappers." He continued, "The proceeds from the ring will go to charities. You scary a** Rappers."

J. COLE ANNOUNCES SOPHOMORE ALBUM TITLE: J. Cole has announced the title of his upcoming sophomore album. During a UStream Session, Cole said that the album is called Born Sinner and will be released on January 28, 2013 -- which is Cole's 28th birthday.

DID BEYONCE BREAK THE LAW BY SHOWING HER BALLOT?

On Election day (November 6th), Beyonce shared a photo of her Texas absentee ballot in New York City. Did she break the law? In New York, voters are prohibited from showing their ballots after prepared for voting to any person. Bossip.com has reported that according to Citizen Media Law Projects website, in New York, "Any person who...makes or keeps any memorandum of anything occurring within the booth, or directly or indirectly, reveals to another the name of any candidate voted for by such voter; or shows his ballot after it is prepared for voting, to any person so as to reveal the contents...is guilty of a misdemeanor."

  • In related news, Beyonce's hubby Jay-Z offended Mitt Romney supporters with his performance of "99 Problems" at an Obama campaign rally in Ohio on Monday (November 5th). While performing the song, Jay-Z rapped, "I got 99 Problems, but Mitt ain't one."

IS CIARA PREGNANT?
Rumor has it that Ciara is pregnant -- by her ex 50 Cent. According to Mediatakeout.com, Ciara found out that she was pregnant this past weekend. A source told the site, "She's always loved 50 Cent. I think 50 loves her too, but he's playing that macho rapper. Ciara wasn't expecting a baby, but she's happy that she's having one with 50 Cent, the only man she's ever loved."

The site reported that CiCi went on Twitter to show off her excitement about the baby. She wrote, "Havent Met U Yet & i'm Already Excited!!! :):):)."

OBAMA RE-ELECTED WITH SOLID ELECTORAL COLLEGE WIN, ONE POINT POPULAR VOTE MARGIN: President Obama was re-elected last night (November 6th) over Republican challenger Mitt Romney despite a weak economy, pulling off a much closer victory than in 2008, particularly in the popular vote, but enough of a win in the electoral college that the networks were able to call the election around 11:15 p.m. ET, with them all making the call within about five minutes of each other. Calling the key swing state of Ohio is what put Obama over the top, and the Romney camp disputed that for a while, waiting until around 12:45 a.m. until Romney finally called Obama to concede.

BALLOT MEASURES

Some of the key items from the 176 measures that were on the ballot in 38 states:

Gay Marriage -- Maine, Maryland, Washington state and Minnesota all had gay marriage measures on the ballot. Maine and Maryland both voted to allow same-sex marriage, the first time such a measure has succeeded in a state vote. Dating back to 1998, all 32 states that held popular votes on the issue rejected it. As of press time, the measure was still undecided in Washington state. In Minnesota, a vote on whether to put a ban on gay marriage in the state constitution was also still undecided.

Marijuana Legalization -- Washington and Colorado voted to allow adults to legally possess small amounts of marijuana under a system of state regulation and taxation, while voters in Oregon rejected it. The future of this state legalization is uncertain, however, since it directly challenges federal law.

SANDY-STRUCK AREAS READIES FOR NEW STORM: The New York-New Jersey-Connecticut area that was hit hard by Hurricane Sandy is readying for a new storm, which is set to hit the area today. While it will be nowhere near as powerful as Sandy, the Nor'easter will bring strong winds and a mix of rain and snow, as well as potential coastal flooding in a region where the coast was devastated by Sandy. New York City Mayor Mike Bloomberg ordered the evacuation of hundreds of people living in low-lying areas, such as the storm-ravaged Rockaways and Staten Island. There were also evacuations in a couple of towns on the New Jersey shore. As of yesterday, 900,000 households and businesses remained without power.
